1968 Alfa Romeo 1750 GTAm
A seguito dei successi ottenuti tra il 1965 e il 1967 dalla bellissima Alfa Romeo GTA, versione alleggerita della Giulia 1.6 Sprint GT e Giulia 1.3 Gt Junior, in Autodelta decisero di utilizzare la nuova nata 1750 Gt Veloce come base per la realizzazione del nuovo modello da competizione che verrà utilizzato nel Campionato Europeo Turismo gruppo 2. Nacque così la GTAm. La versione utilizzata era la scocca americana a Iniezione, scocca 105.51, con motore testa stretta a doppia accensione e iniezione Spica portato dagli originali 1.750cm3 a 2.000cm3
Le prestazioni furono ottime, segnate con la vittoria assoluta nel campionato europeo turismo sia come piloti, con Toine Hezemans nel 1970 che come costruttori nel 1971 e 1972.
In teoria 19 vetture furono costruite direttamente dall’Autodelta e circa 40 da officine e team che acquistavano direttamente il kit (disponibile per tutti) dall’Autodelta.
L’auto qui proposta è una fedele replica di una delle 40 auto private che parteciparono nel triennio al campionato europeo turismo.
Costruita su una scocca italiana originale 1750GT Veloce del 1968 (prima immatricolazione Gennaio 1968) con pedaliera bassa, questa GTAm è stata preparata seguendo con accuratezza le specifiche dell’epoca e i regolamenti odierni di sicurezza e conformità. (Allegato K, Allegato J 1971, regole FIA)
Il motore è un testa stretta a doppia accensione, con due carburatori doppio corpo Weber DCOE45, preparato dal conosciutissimo e apprezzatissimo Giuliano Facetti nel 2017. Il risultato sono 204cv a 7.000 giri/min.
Nel 2017 è stato eseguito un rialzo completo, comprensivo di:
- revisione completa pinze freni anteriori e posteriori
- nuovi dischi anteriori e rettifica dischi posteriori
- revisione cambio
- revisione ponte
- motore nuovo
- impianto elettrico
- revisione ammortizzatori
- molle nuove
- serbatoio nuovo in alluminio riempito con spugna

Possiede un HTP FIA Internazionale con scadenza 31.12.2026; ha documenti in regola e targa italiana.
Dal rialzo ha effettuato due sessioni di test e una gara per un totale di 4 ore di moto.
Necessita aggiornamenti di sicurezza (sedile, cinture e estintore)
A corredo un set di cerchi gommati da pioggia
L’auto è perfettamente funzionante e pronta per partecipare all’Alfa Revival Cup e alla griglia HTC di Peter Auto, oltre che ai diversi campionati nazionali europei; è visibile previo appuntamento presso la nostra officina

Following the success gained between 1965 and 1967 by the beautiful Alfa Romeo GTA, a lightened version of the 1.6 Giulia Sprint GT and 1.3 Giulia GT Junior, Autodelta (the Alfa Romeo racing division) decided to use the the new born 1750 GT Veloce as starting point to build the new Group 2 racing car to compete in the European Touring Car Championship. The GTAm was born. The shell used to build the GTAm was the American version of the 1750 GT Veloce, internal code 105.51, with a narrow head twin spark engine with Spica fuel injection, re-bored to be 2,000cm3 instead of the original 1,750cm3.
The performance were great, with the overall win in the European Touring Car Championship for driver, in 1970 with Toine Hezemans and constructor, in 1971 and 1972.
It is reckon that 19 cars were built directly by Autodelta and approximately 40 by private teams and workshops, buying the racing kit directly from Autodelta.
The example we have for sale is a perfect replica of one of the 40 private team cars that raced between 1970 and 1972 in the European Touring Car Championship.
Built out of an original 1968 Italian 1750GT Veloce low pedal shell (first registered in January 1968), this GTAm is 100% FIA legal, App. K compliant following the 1971 (per. G2) specifications as per 1971 App. J.
The engine is a narrow head, twin spark 2,000cm3 with dual 45DCOE carburetors by Facetti, the most renowned and most appreciated Alfa Romeo engine builder who used to prepare these engines in period. Done in 2017, the engine has an output power of 204bhp at 7,000rpm.
Over 2017 the car has undergone an intensive overhaul, including:
- complete front and rear brake calipers service
- new front discs and machined rear discs
- gearbox inspection
- diff inspection
- new engine
- new wiring loom
- shock absorber service
- new springs
- new aluminium fuel cell with foam

The car is perfectly running and ready to compete in both the Alfa Revival Cup in Italy and Peter Auto HTC grid plus different national events around Europe. It is viewable upon request at our workshop
